404 URL issue in post url

Hello Gulshan Kumar,

I am using Redirection Plugin for my wordpress, yesterday I have seen bing, Yandex & some other bots are adding unknown “the_thus” behind URL & it’s appearing in 404 error.
Also Google Analytics is showing down.

Any suggestions or ideas is Appreciated

Hi, Good afternoon!

That could be fake bots. I do not say to trust this report.

Instead, please consider checking via XENU or “Screaming Frog” professional tools or you can also personally check while browsing.

Thanks

Thank you now it seems cool.

& Having 1 major issue with bing webmaster tool every time when I am contacting them they are deleting rest of sitemaps & again when I am creating post it’s regenerating sitemap with domain.com/tag/post-url/feed & domain.com/tag/post-url/rss

Hi,

Add below snippet via Code Snippets plugin

  • It will remove RSS Feed discovery link from <head> ... </head> and set noindex header response as well
remove_action( 'wp_head', 'feed_links', 2 );
remove_action('wp_head', 'feed_links_extra', 3 );
$url = "//{$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']}{$_SERVER["REQUEST_URI"]}";
if (preg_match("#/feed/#", $url))
{
	header( "X-Robots-Tag: noindex", true );
}
  • After then, delete your sitemap. Wait for a week.

  • Then re-submit this path sitemap_index.xml instead sitemap.xml as per Yoast SEO plugin.

Hopefully, next time Bing won’t show up.

Is there any other problem that you would like share? Please let me know.

Thanks

Two ways

  1. Add in Child theme functions.php

  2. create own special plugin with help of https://wordpress.org/plugins/pluginception/ and add snippet there

<?php
/**
 * Plugin Name: Theme functions
 * Description: All useful snippets goes into this plugin
 * Author: WordPress User
 * Author URI:  http://example.com
 * License: GNU General Public License v2 or later
 * License URI: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html
 *
 */

// type code below this line

Save it as xyz.php and convert it to zip file and upload as a plugin

Thanks

You mean by this code in theme functions.php in footer??

remove_action( ‘wp_head’, ‘feed_links’, 2 );
remove_action(‘wp_head’, ‘feed_links_extra’, 3 );
$url = “//{$_SERVER[‘HTTP_HOST’]}{$_SERVER[“REQUEST_URI”]}”;
if (preg_match("#/feed/#", $url))
{
header( “X-Robots-Tag: noindex”, true );
}

Yes… yes

Thank you will do this & let you know about successful resolution.

Have a great day.

@GulshanKumar,

I am using a theme in that child theme functions.php file is not available.

Only Functions.php is there.

I said, use Code Snippets plugin. That’s a recommended way to go.

Done.

Website width is showing bigger than pc screen size…what to do in this case??
