Here you go …

  1. Create an advt page A, set it as front page in the WordPress Reading settings

  2. Create a new page B, set it for the Blog.

  3. Now, redirect A to B after 5 seconds using JavaScript

<script type="text/javascript">
    function Redirect()
    {
        window.location="http://www.example.com/homepage-b/";
    }
    setTimeout('Redirect()', 5000);
</script>
  1. In the Advt page A, you can include above JS code using Insert Headers and Footers plugin.

As per your requirement, you may need to set advt landing page as a front page in the WordPress reading settings.

This is the easiest method to do actually …

and send user to different web page… I don’t see any other simple way.

Should I insert that code using header and footer inserter? But that plugin inserts code in every page right

That plugin is for different purpose. Adding meta tag, css or JS in the head. So it cannot reflect on the content area.

Is it good at the point of SEO? I don’t think so. If you have a new website and trying to get Google’s importance, then avoid this.
