You can update server web stack this way …

sudo -s
apt update
apt upgrade -y
apt dist-upgrade
apt autoclean
apt autoremove
reboot

To update EasyEngine, as per its Docs below is the command

ee update

and everything will be automatically updated to the latest verison

To update PHP version of your existing WordPress site, below are the required steps intend for the EasyEngine users.

  1. Take full backup of your current WordPress, you can use UpdraftPlus plugin.
  2. Run below command to create a WP site with PHP version 7.3
ee site create example.com --type=wp --php=7.3
  1. Restore your site.

Once done, you can verify version.

php -v

Ya, existing installation for that domain need to be deleted.

usage: ee (sub-commands …) [options …] {arguments …}
ee: error: unrecognized arguments: --php7.3

Run

ee site edit domain.com

find two lines with - php7.

change php7 to php72 or php71.

save and exit
