If i am trying to revise an old post, and the new post is really much better, then ideally i should just 301 redirect the old one and google would reindex the new post and probably use new rankings.
In my mind there are 2 scenarios
- I can 301 redirect posts which are not ranking well and are not in the top 10 search results of google. Redirect them by publishing a new post.
- I UPDATE old articles where the article is within the top 10 rankings of google.
This way, the article itself determines whether it should be redirected or updated.
Any problems possible with this strategy?
